Separation and divorce are among life’s most painful transitions. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and psychotherapist, I provide objective, compassionate support to help you navigate this challenging period with clarity and confidence.
Together, we’ll work through the practical and emotional aspects of separation—from physically separating and announcing the news to family and friends, to managing the intense emotions that arise. I’ll help you prepare and plan each step so you can move forward with intention rather than overwhelm.
If children are involved, we’ll focus on putting them first. This includes deciding how to communicate the separation to different ages and supporting them through the changes. The goal is to create a positive co-parenting environment where your children can thrive.
Why work with me?
With training in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 and 2), I bring a deep understanding of relationship dynamics to this work. I’ll help you handle this transition as well as possible while keeping your head above water. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
Is separation and divorce therapy for individuals or couples?
It can be either. Individual therapy will be more personal, a time during which you may grieve the loss of your partner and sense of family; and create new healthy boundaries with your ex. We can focus on staying connected within the family, finding your support system, rediscovering who you are, and what a new healthy relationship will look like when you are ready for one.
Separation & divorce therapy for couples will be focussed on topics that you have in common, such putting children’s needs first, how to successfully communicate with one another and learning how to co-parent.
Do you offer counselling sessions by phone or online video?
Yes, choose from phone or online video appointments. I also provide 30-min check-ins for established clients.
